A US Predator drone has crashed in Turkey early on Wednesday morning.

According to a post from Incirlik Air Base, where the US Airforce operates from in Turkey, the MQ-1 Predator crashed in an unpopulated area in southern Turkey at 1.40am local time 3rd February.
An initial assessments puts the crash down to ‘mechanical failure’, although a full investigation is under way.
There were no military or civilian casualties and both US and Turkish officials have complete control of the crash site.
So it is just pot luck that it crashed in an unpopulated area as it could have landed anywhere.
